First True Love

Last weekend my girlfriends from high school came into town to catch up and throw an inpromptu bachelorette party/30th birthday celebration.  Before the festivities began, we all met up at the park with the kiddos. Kelly brought her son, Stone and her daughter (15 months), Eliza. Eric locked his gaze on the beautiful Eliza and that was it! He was smitten (as noted by his screams for her attention wherever she was)! Unfortunately for our little Swedican, Eliza didn't seem quite as interested in Eric as he was to her...but Kelly and I have already started drawing up the marriage paperwork nonetheless.

10 Months - Watch out!

Eric is now 10 months! Can you believe his first birthday is just around the corner?!?! He is now quite mobile and continues his "army crawl" but can also pull himself to standing, reverse crawl to sit up, stand with assistance and even take a few steps! He loves to sit on his knees and study whatever toy he is playing with. He has a very skeptical and quizical look about himself as he studies the world around him. Very much like his father. His language consists of loud screeches, "ga,ga" and "da,da". We are working on "ma,ma". He can pick up items with his hands and even transfer them between his hands.

He is a great eater and continue to want to eat "our food". We have introduced him to cantaloupe, bananas, and small apple pieces. However, his main diet still consists of pureed foods (including such exotic dishes as pureed turkey and rice, summer vegetable dinner, and lentil rice - yumm! I am jealous!).

The daycare ladies continue to fall in love with his active personality. He often greets them in the morning with a big smile and tries to jump out of ones arms. I would say that he isnt complaining about daycare.

Eric continues to be a blast and wants to be more indendent.

Swedish Fish!

Today Eric had his first swim lessons at ACAC. The timing fell close to nap time so Eric was a bit tired and stunned when we first entered the pool. He did like the water and loves checking out the other swimming babies. Eric's swim teach, Miss Jennifer, was fabulous and we spent the class singing and splashing. Eric loved blowing bubbles (i.e. gulping the water) the best. I think we have a little Swedish fish in the making!

A Trip up to DC

This past weekend we journeyed up to DC to visit the Fars and to celebrate the bride-to-bride, Hayley. I went off to frolick in the city with the girls and Eric got some quality time in with Christian and the Fars. Here are a few photos from the weekend.

A Snowy Valentines

Yesterday Charlottesville got its first real snow of the season and it was sizable - around 15 inches! We took Eric out to play in the snow. He was pretty indifferent but did like eating the snow. Here are some cute snow and Valentines photos from our little heart breaker.

9 Months: I Go Where I want

Mr. Independent - Eric can get anywhere he wants with his army crawl. Which means he has the ability to get into anything and everything. His 9 month photo shoot definitely showed off his mobility and curiosity. This was the most difficult one to try to get him to sit still...and to not eat the sticker!

9 month stats from the doctor's visit: 21 lbs and 6 oz; 29.25 inches; and 80th percentile.

Sending Love to Sweden

Today, Christian is flying to Sweden for his grandfather's funeral. Eric and I are glad that Christian can be with his family at this time. Eric also wanted to send some extra love across the ocean to the Swedes:
